Full review:
Ubi Soft has an eye for great games. It was proved when it puplished IL-2 Sturmovik, an excellent game made by Maddox Games. IL-2 has the best flight- and damage model for what I know of World War 2 flight simulators. It has also very authentic aeroplanes and the immersion is fantastic. IL-2 Sturmovik's graphics are also breath-taking. Everything looks as real as it could with present computers. Sturmovik's only bigger drawback is its linear campaigns which reduce single playing lifetime, but happily there are still quick- and full mission builders to give you as much enjoyment as you like.

IL-2 gives an opportunity to set game realism as high as you feel comfortable. With less realism it shouldn't be too difficult eaven for beginners to fly high and experience the joy of aerial combat. It's still highly recommended to own at least a good joystick if you want to have success in anything.

IL-2 Sturmovik has a challenging Al to fight with, but the biggest challenge comes playing online with real people. IL-2 Sturmovik can be played with 32 players which is quite enough to make large and fun battles. Multiplayer game demands more power from computer than single player game so it doesn't work too well with low end machines. If you are still willing to try out you should first get Hyperlobby which is the best way to find other people playing Sturmovik. More experienced players should definitely visit IL-2 Online Wars where can be joined in an all time advancing online battle, Russia against Germany. It would be best if there was a ready squad to be in, but there is still an opportunity to join in VVS Free Fighter Alliance, which is a Russian squad for lonely wolves. IOW uses full realism settings so there can be seen who are the real aces.
